Maths for Economics is composed of five parts. Part One presents some foundations to the subject, including introductions to arithmetic, algebra, linear equations, quadratic equations, and other techniques. The second part looks at optimization with one independent variable. It considers derivatives, differentiation, the economic applications of functions, and elasticity. The third part turns to finance and growth. Chapters here cover compound growth, the exponential function and logarithms, continuous growth, and derivatives of exponential and logarithmic functions. Part Four looks at optimization with two or more independent variables. The last part considers other topics such as integration, matrix algebra, difference and differential equations, and W21.
